Buena's from España!

Siii! It's true. I'm in Spain - WE are in Spain. It has been a rollercoaster to get our family unit back together and back on "our track." So many things are happening (and already happened) and I'm ready to share the good, bad, & maybe some ugly - maybe.
For now, I'll give you a short recap. Chris decided to go in a new direction last year in his career, which made our lives look different. But I had no complaints because he signed in MEXICO! And to top it off, he signed to a city where my grandparents are from - Chihuahua! I'm telling you, our story is book worthy. Unfortunately, the kids and I were unable to visit because we enrolled them in school - their first in-person AMERICAN SCHOOL. Chris's season in Mexico was not long and he was able to come home for a short while before signing a contract to play in Spain (which has been a dream for us). During that time I landed a job, turned 35 at the end of 2022, chopped my hair off - twice, and ended up getting extremely sick (I'm all good now - 15 pounds lighter, ugh).
Anyway, Chris had to leave right away (when basketball calls, you follow) and I tied up our loose ends at home. We did consider, for a moment - a short moment, staying separated. We thought it would be good for the kids to have a full year in American school, spend time with their extended family, and see how life in America is when it's not summer (usually the only time we are home). But, it was tough - on all of us. Long nights of our youngest crying herself to sleep - calling her dad's name. Our oldest wondering when we were going to join him and my middle constantly reminding us why her dad is so cool and how much she misses him. Then there was me, sleepless nights - sleeping without your husband is not fun AT ALL. I missed having coffee with him in the mornings, being able to text and know he's going to respond right away (a 6 hour time difference is a B).
I'm glad to say we made it through. It only took two months. The kids and I hopped on a plane (my first time traveling with 3 for 10+ hours) and landed in Spain almost 10 days ago. While I couldn't continue my work, I had to unite my family. If you've followed my previous blogs, you know I'm a silver lining type of woman. So, I signed my kids up for school (still waiting for them to start) and decided to revamp my blog, focus on my latest book I'm writing, and of course I have a few other things up my sleeve that I can't wait to share with you all.
I'd be lying if I said it's been all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, the past 7 or 8 months have pushed me to the brink several times. Lost friendships, disagreements with family, my role as a mother was changing and I wasn't sure how to handle it, and internally I had my own issues.
While I'm still working through things, and while I have my sad moments, they bring me strength. So that's why I'm back to writing my blog, my latest book, and exploring this new place we get to call home for a little while.
Entonces, if you haven't already, subscribe! I'll be posting weekly. And to answer your question, YES, you'll be learning Spanish conmigo!
Hasta luego! Sincerely, E. is back
